I feel like Doogie Houser everytime that I post here. Last week I went to the clinic for a bunch of blood tests. It's a private clinic so they didn't have my doctor's fax number to send her my results. So I went back to get the results. I was expecting a sheet of paper with text on it like "here's the diagnostic" but it's only numbers and code and I don't understand what it means. I have an appointment with my doctor on wednesday. I'm getting anxious because I'm afraid that I'll have Chron disease or something that requires surgery. I'm also scared that they just confirm that it's IBS and that I'll be stuck with it for the rest of my life. I have chronic abdonimal pain..on a daily basis. It's soooo frustrating and annoying. Nothing makes the pain go away. Exept sex but I'm not really into that when I feel sick. So I don't know what to expect. I can't wait. I wanna know what will happen to me next.

I know how you feel... Hang in there!
How was the dr.'s appt?
I hope everything turned out ok with those tests. I'm not sure what blood tests can be used to diagnose, but I highly doubt that it's anything serious. As far as your weight loss; keep in mind that I lost 30 lbs in the span of a few months and was having other problems as well, yet it turned out to be nothing. So, I wouldn't get too worried (though I know that's hard to accomplish). I'm sure everything will turn out ok.
I can feel you about how scary that is... Hopefully the dr. will find good ways to help you manage -- a lot of Crohn's patients can have long periods of remission when they find good ways to manage. On the IBD (UC and Crohn's) forum, esp. the pinned topics, you may be able to find something useful. There are many members there that have good treatment ideas and recepies. Is your dr. supportive? If so, it might worth a try to have the dr. talk a lil bit to your b/f about what it is and how to help...
{{{HUGS}}} again and keep us posted on how the specialist appt goes.
As Cherrie mentioned, it's unfortunate that you have Crohn's... but, on the other hand, I have heard that some Crohn's patients actually can manage their symptoms better than those of us with IBS! There is in fact a football player with Crohn's (you can read the article here: http://www.ccfa.org/about/news/garrard ); and who would think that anyone with Crohn's would be able to do something like that? So clearly there are ways to keep it under control; I think (think being the operative word) that they said something like steroid shots can work well in that regard. But, obviously, long term usage of those can have adverse effects as well (my uncle had them for years and now he has osteoperosis - I think that's how you spell it). Still, at least there are methods that can be used to treat the condition.
Sorry to hear that your b/f isn't being supportive though. It's sad that people can be so insensitive during the times of other people's greatest need. Still, at least your mom seems to be supportive, and hopefully your specialist turns out to be as well.
Though I have IBS, not Crohn's, I know of a gal that has Crohn's and was able to control it greatly with a Japanese water ionizer, so I thought I'd give it a try. My personal constipation symptoms are so much improved in the past few weeks that I'm hopeful.
