Really... Water?

IBS water hydration H2O awesome D
I'm living in a dream of sorts when it comes to the way my body like to handle food of any kind. It really does seem unreal going for weeks now with almost no serious IBS issues. I love to run, and I recently started at the track again after a putting on 20 pounds with the ex. I've been running for years, and never felt that running or exercising had a tremendous impact on my IBS symptoms. In fact, crunches at the gym just made things worse from what I can remember!! :^P

This time around however, I really went to town on hydration, as I neglected to do so all the years and runs before. I mean, I used to take in just enough water to cool off, and that was it. I was back to sodas and other drinks by the time dinner rolled around. These days, even when not running, I'm drinking water like it's going out style! I'm pretty sure people here know all about trouble shooting! If you have a good week, you spend plenty of time trying to back peddle and find out what exactly you did differently, and most of the time you never really learn what it was. I've broken my life down to the bare minimum these days with diet and other activities, so it wasn't hard to see that one of three things was working finally. One: the running, TWO: The low fat diet, or THREE: all the water I was drinking..

The first two things were never that successful, so it had to be H2O. I've been using myself as a lab rat to see what happens if I ease back on running, and eat foods that might be a problem. So far, as long as I keep up with the water I feel fine, with minimal negative affects. It's awesome! (Just paused to fill my cup up! :^) ) This desert heat can really kick your ass if you're not careful, so I'm left guessing that I've been neglecting my bodies need for water since I was a child. I'm also convinced that my body has never been able to adequately pull water from other things I was taking in, so that left me with the IBS blues! These days, I am eating super healthy (As best I can), I've lost 20 pounds from running, and I'm a water junkie. No big D attacks, and I have a  higher sense of confidence! If having to pee more than usual is the price, I'll take it!!!

I hope this helps just ONE person on here, as I know that all of us are different, and that we all came to have IBS in different ways. I encourage you to try and change your life by trying the water solution, and I hope I can stay strong enough to stick to this regiment! Have a wonderful weekend!

Well that does make sense now. Every time I would go to the dr or hospital and all they would give me were IV fluids, I felt worlds different, but I thought maybe they slipped something in there lol, wishful thinking. My mom likes to drink figi water for the nutrients or something, maybe I'll start to get into the habit too.
Also, I've been trying to workout, crutches, lunges and weights at night and running in the morning, except I hate waking up and the running leaves me more exhausted than it should, and the crutches kill me even tho I use a fitness ball (bc I thought it was my technique, like I was crushing a nerve or something) and I always end up feeling sick after.
But I'll take your advice. If I wasn't feeling well, but well enough, my ex would give me ice cold water to sip on and crackers, maybe he knew something I didn't

Yeah, it's tough to stay on a routine that works. I get jealous of normal people, and how they can take it all for granted! It's also really easy to fall back into the bad habits! I find that I get tired of the same old thing everyday, but this water thing is really keeping the D demons away lol, and that's all that keeps me going some times. I hope it works for you as well, and I think you're really taking this thing to the next level with videos (inspiring)! I may try and come up with a way to share vid as well!

Sorry it took me so long to reply, but I've not had any serious issues since I started with water. I mean next to nothing! Having issues since I was 8 or 9 means I've been trapped my whole life in a certain kind of debilitating fear. This has been like a new life for me. I hope you keep up with hydration! I've been eating yogurt to obtain the healthy digestive enzymes as well. Nasty tasting stuff, but I'm sure it's helping too! Have a good one!
