i have ibs and finding it hard to deal with the fact that i have it,im in a load of pain and finding it hard to deal with my period on top of my ibs symptoms.my periods are heavy and trigger of my ibs and dont know how to get my head around it all.
I feel for you with these symptoms. IBS symptoms are commonly triggered by periods and whether this is because of the increased sensitivity around the time of your period or the hormones involved, its debatable. You might like to talk to your doctor about ways to help with your heavy periods such as hormone manipulation or maybe the coil as this might reduce your symptoms. We know IBS symptoms are affected in IBS and Pregnancy too. Sometimes using drugs such as mefenamic acid can be helpful, but this is an NSAID and can cause stomach irritation and also worsen asthma, so it should be used with caution if there is any risk.
