Work sucks

These past six months have been hard. Getting worse and worse with the diarrhea attacks not to mention the pain. Then when I finally talk to my boss about it they act like it can't be that bad. And my boss is someone who had a bowel obstruction for years and had all the pain and doctors telling her it's in her head just like most of us have. I was...

People and doctors both will tell you that IBS doesn't affect any other part of your body, organs and such. But it does. Not only do people report anxiety as one of their symptons but I've found other things in my life that it affects. What always made me mad was when doctors would try to tell me that my IBS was caused by anxiety, well it isn't....

Making Changes

After I'd been in my apprenticeship for awhile I started looking for a part time job to get more experience grooming. I found a Kennel that also did  grooming 45 miles away. After my IBS became apparent in my junior year of high school, I went to see a gastro doc, who scheduled me a colonoscopy SIX MONTHS from them. Well the results came back all normal and the doctor told me I had IBS but didn't give me any advice or help on what to do next. I thought that was it, I thought that was the only thing to do.

With no hope of...

I'd been having frequent attacks from my IBS for weeks before I sought help, I went to the nurse seeking help explaining that the attacks only started in fifth hour, lunch, and sometimes continued until the end of the day. She advised Imodium. I tried this and it helped but not enough for me to stay in school, I finally told my parents what was going on...

The start

Posted by Eco , 17 April 2012 · 190 views

My IBS became evident in my junior year of high school. I believe the signs started even before that but weren't as frequent. The first time I remember was when I had planned an outing with friends, going to pizza hut then the movies. For me this was really something special, my parents didn't allow me to drive people around in my car let alone take...
