Ok- I have eaten some things that I am super happy have not caused me issues yet.... the more I can expand my food list the BETTER!  Especially since I love to cook and I am not at all a picky eater!  I'll share some recipes as I come up with them, here is one I made tonight (super quick with some things I had on hand).

Tuesday Day 9 on LOW FODMAP

Posted by scouter99 , 05 June 2012 · 88 views

Today was a real test for me.  I was not in the office the entire day; I had to go to a funeral this morning and then straight to a meeting off site and therefore I had to bring all my food with me for the day.  A real challenge... especially when I was starving and all I had to eat was a dry turkey sandwich.  Blech.

The good news, so far I have drank a...

Monday Day 8 on low FODMAP

Posted by scouter99 , 04 June 2012 · 110 views

Woke up today feeling great.  My stomach feels skinny (even though it is NOT)!  The disappointing thing is that the scale is still stuck at a 211.6.... up a lb from where it was a few days ago.  I just have to keep doing what I am doing and give it time, I guess.  I hope the fact that I have been going to the gym regularly again has something to do with...

FODMAP, daily, summary
PS: I write out this journal in bits and pieces throughout the day, that's why at different times you might see it say "right now I feel..."

Woke up today feeling good, but about 45 minutes later I really feel like I have to go but I feel constipated.  The scale was also up 1lb.  I know I didn't gain 1 lb and expected that the 5 lbs I...

Friday- day 5 on low FODMAP

Posted by scouter99 , 01 June 2012 · 65 views

Woke up feeling pretty darn good today!!  This morning I felt a little constipated and had not gone #2 as of 2pm.  That must be a record for me!  My stomach was not upset or bothering me in anyway... just that mildly constipated feeling.

I should mention that I have not been including beverages in my meal summary... that's because all I am...

Posted by scouter99 , 31 May 2012 · 86 views

Hi, everyone! For those of you wanting to do the FODMAP diet, here is a cheat sheet I created to help me with it. I am on my 4th day and today is a GREAT day for me! I feel really really good! It has been up and down, but all I know is that today is definitely an UP day.

This sheet was created based on the diet in the IBS Free at Last book. I...

Wednesday wrap up

Posted by scouter99 , 30 May 2012 · 48 views

I had an upper and lower GI done on Friday, 5/25/12.  My colon looks good, I have mild GERD detected in the upper (explains the random heartburn) and I meet with the GI NP on Friday to go over the results of the endo biopsies and all the blood work.  The GI who did the procedure told me that he believes I have IBS.  He recommended the FODMAP diet.

I...

I'm a blogger!

Posted by scouter99 , 30 May 2012 · 69 views

Ok, blogging is not new to me.  BUT- blogging about my HEALTH for the world to see, now that IS new.  I am a writer by nature, and the way I get things out is to write.  I have a private health blog on Blogger and a public regular blog that has very little of the true nitty gritty health stuff in it, but part of the therapy of writing for me is the...
