My last entry was titled, "Men do not get many comments"... still haven't received comments. Men with IBS are outnumbered 3-1 thus, it's hard for us to get a word in, ha ha... just kidding! My cheerful moderator, Cherrie is the only one that left me comments. Hey, c'mon ladies/guys, talk to me! This is my life line with IBS-D. Maybe I have defined myself too well, Male w/IBS-D... should have maybe used a alias like the author J.K. Rowling with Harry Potter. Not quite an alias but she used only her initials, J. K. thus, "T.H. with IBS" may of received more responses. Note to myself, if using initials I must not end with Tony (nice guy) ha ha.
I am so thankful that the weather here this weekend is extremely warm (high +7C & low at nights -7C) as my furnace quit Friday morning. Need a part from Regina thus, Monday or Tuesday would be repaired. Living in a mobile trailer (they're quite nice though) in rural Saskatchewan does have their problems... same as the house I had in Regina, SK. Bought a few more space heaters and the cheapest priced one ($15) works better than the Honeywell ($40) types. Will return & buy the Wal-mart $15.
At least my water pipes underneath the trailer & above ground are OK. Use heat tape that plugs in. Last February, shortly after buying the trailer for only $20,000 (6 modern appliances & 2 sheds... one is humongous with it's own power, work bench and has a loft too) the water pipes froze. The trailer was empty (until April) and I hired a plumber to fix it. Note! Plumbers do not like working underneath trailers in -40 C temperatures. Well, the pipes had cracked thus, a new one assembled in the shop then added. Cost me near $400 for a resident plumber. Plumbing companies in Moose Jaw, SK (15 minutes away) were not interested!!! Again, no one likes to go under trailers. Probably would have cost more.
I also did another speaking engagement last night. Thankfully, I survived the little amount of anxiety since, I've reduced my speaking engagements to a minimum. Got a standing ovation!!! I felt good though, my burned left foot was still causing a lot of pain. I speak within a 12 step program. I also did a lot of public speaking with my job at Agriculture Canada. I'm on a disability since Oct/06 for other issues... liver, pancreas & gall bladder. Hey, my motto (think it's my signature at the bottom of page... maybe it's not on blogs & just forums) states, "we can accept the good times, why not then the difficult ones".
Also, I've been quipping, "2008 is going to be great!" This is explained in my previous entries. It's not positive thinking but, truly prayer and positive living! Well, signing off til a few more days. Keep the faith!!!

Get a burn dressing from a chemist to put on your foot- I use one called gel-net.
