The word "Blog" is short for "Web-log", or, in other words, your own personal online journal. Now, you may have heard of Blogs before, or this may be the first time you've ever seen this word. It doesn't really matter all that much, because one of the greatest things about Blogs is that they're so easy to use that ANYONE can have one!

But what would you do with a Blog? Good question. The greatest thing about owning and maintaining your own Blog can be summed up in one word: Freedom. Once you've created a Blog, you can do with it what you want. Do you want to keep it private and for your eyes only? Go ahead! Do you want to forward your Blog to friends and family so they can keep up with your life? It's your choice. It's up to you whether you update once a month, once a week, once a day, or multiple times a day. You can write IBS tips of the week, or recount stories of your early days with IBS. It may be hard to grasp, but this is your Blog and, therefore, what it's used for is up to you! Once you create a Blog, it becomes your own personal bit of webspace that you can customize to your liking.

Now, onto that other question (bet you thought we forgot, didn't you?) A Blogging Community is a group of Bloggers (AKA: Blog Writers) who all write about a similar topic or subject of interest. Here at IBS Blogs, all of the Bloggers are talking about IBS; how it affects their lives; special tips and tricks they have for dealing with it; touching, funny, and interesting stories about friends and family and all things IBS-related. That's right, there are hundreds of other people like you, writing daily, weekly, monthly about their lives and IBS. We are a support group, a population of friends, a space for debate and agreement, thought, information, and entertainment.

Why not step up with us? Sign up, and get started! If things get confusing, we have a Help section to help you out. Now let's get on with it! We're all waiting for you, and can't wait for you to join us.

Paranoia: The Worst Part Of IBS

IBS has made me terrified. I'm scared to leave the house. I'm scared of people being disgusted with me. I'm scared of so many different things that it's a wonder my family hasn't had me committed. Simple things that I took for granted, I'm now terrified of. For example, I've gotten the runs in one too many bushes for me...

I have been suffering from a horrible flu/cold since Wenesday August 25. The good news is that my IBS has sort of gone away, I am only getting slight spasms in the morning. (I don't want to say that too loudly). I can honestly say that my IBS was in full swing Friday August 27, it was the 1 and only day it truly bothered me. I have...

GI Doctor Appointment

Okay, so Friday, I went to see my GI doctor. The one who performed the Flex Sig on me. They told me to arrive 15 minutes early, and I was seen an hour and 15 minutes later. When I FINALLY got back to the room, and the doctor came in -- I could tell it wasn't going to be a good appointment. He didn't look me in the eye..... walked straight...

People that I thought were my friends from school are leaving me. They're just ditching me because I have IBS, a heart defect, and asthma. The only people that accept me are people older than me, about age 16. Just 2 years older than me. My parents aren't being fair about any of this. I want to hang out with some of them, but I think my...

I’m sick of this. It’s 6 in the morning and I haven’t slept. My stomachs cramping really badly, and I have no idea what I’ve done to cause it. On top of my IBS, my legs hurt, my arms hurt, and my hands and fingers feel so stiff that it hurts to type. I’ve been to the drs about this, had some blood tests which have – guess what - all came back...

Ghrelin affects gastric and proximal (ascending) colon motility. Ghrelin causes amplification of the vagus system in the stomach and causes contractions in the proximal colon. Ghrelin levels and their relationship with gastric emptying time were investigated. Abnormally low preprandial (before food) ghrelin levels and absence of a significant...

I was diagnosed with IBS in March of this year and I have most of the symptoms under control by diet, exercise and a few natural pills. The only thing that I can't seem to get control of is the bloating of my stomach. I feel like I am going to explode from all the pressure in there. I also get really bad gas, I know attractive right! I...

Diarrhea last night after severe episode the day before

It is very old and I didn't expect that at all. After Sunday's severe episode, I felt all tired out and exhausted, I decided to call in sick and stay home for a day. Just as I thought I was able to relax, the night didn't come good. I had a few non-salted plain crackers during the day, and I have plain congee with 3 very little...
