I may have a go at ringing them, as I couldn't find an easy email address.

I found an email address and they responded very quickly. They immediately identified the nearest NHS dietician for me (about 1.5 hours away and would need a referral from a GP), which was helpful, but are only selling their books to dieticians as the diet is complex. The latter I do believe, but did respond that it then pushes many of us tinkering using books from elsewhere as best as we can, in desperation. I do hope they will take such thinking aboard!!

Please could you also send me the details? I am currently on the search for a dietitian with an interest in FODMAP in the UK. Do you have any recommendations?I have contacted Kings College London after reading about them online (http://www.kcl.ac.uk...al/fodmaps.html) but am still awaiting a response, so any help you could give me would be much appreciated!Hope you're well and thank you in advance for any help you can give.

Hiya, I've just discovered this FODMAP diet, (literally 10 minutes ago), so I'm a bit confused as to why you guys are wanting these booklets? I get why you'd want a recipe booklet, but surely all the allowed/not allowed foods are readily available for download? Or is there something extra on these booklets Kings College?I was just on another part of this forum and I saw a thread about it and they've put a downloadable PDF of what's allowed etc... http://www.ibsgroup....-convenience/By the way, a while ago I saw a holistic homeopath that put me on a "no wheat, no sugar, no dairy, no mushrooms, no alcohol" diet aimed a eliminating fermentation in the gut - it stopped me puking all the time but it didn't help much with my IBS. Do you think this FODMAP thing will be much different?

HI read about FODMAP diet some time ago, think there was an ad in paper about guys hosp had some leaflets, i noticed on here and net that they dont give them out to patients just drs and dietitians! Ok i thought i will go dr and get her to refer me to a dietitian, so been today dr looked into and surprise surprise they cant help me them not trained for it! She cant refer me to anywhere else as not allowed to do that as no funding for it! so wat am i to do just follow someone else diet sheet or buy a book on it i suppose, dont seem fair to me xx julie x much love to my fellow sufferers

Hi everyone, I was much better on the FODMAPS diet but came off of it as i was bored of the food. I was better for a good couple of months afetr coming off of it and since had all of the tests done for about everything and they all came back clear so dairy, wheat ets does not effect me so they are saying it is clearly just IBS so go away and manage it. In that case is there any point in using the FOBMAPS diet? I will say for the past 2 weeks i havehad crappy symptoms back again.

Hi BQ thanx i have had a look at those but still find them rather contradicting. one says ok to eat peas the other says no peas and there are various other things that are safe on one and not the other, i wish this was easy i just want to do it properly but dont seem to be able to get a full true list anywhere.

Well sometimes one has to engage in trial and error. I am well aware that several lists exist and that they are not the same. You must simply try and see how you do. Or check out a variety of lists and see if there is a majority listing it as to be avoided.... And... if there is a majority listing as to be avoided.... avoid it. If there is a majority listing it as ok.... than try it and see how you do.
