For the first time last week I had a bowel impaction. A glycerine suppository cleared it. I had been taking one 50 mg colace at night. My gasto said to take 100mg in the morning and one at night. My question is ...is there any negative to regularly taking colace? What would be the best to do....go back down to 50mg once or twice a day or 100mg once or twice a day? Any help would be appreciated.

i took colace daily for years per my doc's recommendation. before taking it, i did some research on it and it seemed safe to take, just like my doc said it was.

you probably will have to play around with the doasage to find what works for you.
