Before I started treating myself to cure this disease, and one bad case of gas, I started to think about the pain. I went out to dinner with my now exgirlfriend and had a horrible pain in my chest. I put my hand on my chest and it is radiating at about 105 degrees Fahrenheit. This really intrigued my mind; How can one area be so much hotter than the rest of the body. I don't know why, but I started thinking back to my body building days and how lactic acid build up and injuries to the muscle create heat do to inflammation. I grabbed a large freezer zip lock bag and filled it with two trays of ice cubes. The next time I had the pain I felt my abdomen and chest for the areas of the highest heat. I put the ice on that area. Within seconds the intestines started contracting and moving the trapped gas. Thinking this might be coincidental I tried it on the areas of: lower back, lower shoulder blades, mid chest, lower ribs, and the sides. Yep, every time it caused the gas to move. This tells me one of two things, if not both, the intestines have been overexpanded and it is hard for it to move gas, and or the inflammation is keeping the intestines from moving the gas. The ice removes the inflamation and causes and area to pull tight whether it is skin or internal. By moving and following the gas pocket you should be able to effectively move the gas from the small intestine to the large intestine and out if you know the correct flow of the GI system.

So in short, you might be able to get immediate and long term relief by just using a bag of ice. Sure beats medication. :)

Well, maybe it is in my head, but I just put ice on my bad spot and low and behold it relieved the pressure there. Let's see how long it lasts.
