hello,i'm new to this site, but it seems like the best place to ask questions about IBS! I've been getting IBS-type symptoms for about a year now. I have always got bloated quite easily after eating, but about a year ago i started having to go to the toilet quite quickly after eating certain foods. I have tried cutting out foods such as dairy, wheat, and gluten, but nothing has made a noticable difference so i gave up. While my stomach does still seem very sensitvie to eating (pretty much any foods) i've noticed that it is sometimes worse when I am hungry. If i don't eat anything at all during the day then i'll be hungry but I won't get nay bloating or diarrhoea, but if i eat breakfast, for example, and then let myself get hungry before eating again, i will often get a horrible bloated feeling and have to go to the loo. Does anyone else find that hunger causes, or exacerbates their symptoms?also, i've just been prescribed Fybogel. I'm a bit reluctant to take it because my main symptoms are bloating and needing to go the toilet frequently. The GP said that it could aggravate the bloating rather than cure it. Can anyone offer any advice on this?thanks in advance.
