constipation after flare?

I never have constipation -- not ever! After a two week IBS flare of "D" today I am constipated. Is that normal after a flare?

Hi notfun,You should know that with IBS there ARE NO RULES. It is common even for non IBS sufferers to follow d with c. It is just the gut trying to get things back to 'normal' (whatever that is).

notfun yes it can happen to alot of us. Also depends on what you were using to stop the D flare. If you were using alot of imodium or calcium carbonate it can happen.... hopefully things get back to normal for you soon.
