Hi again, I will keep this short as I posted about a new symptom I am having in the past couple of months, the occasional "wet fart". The only reply I had was from Mark (thank you!) but I would really appreciate hearing if anyone else has had this *symptom*.Dee

Hi there,Sorry about the last post - pressed 'reply' before I wrote it!To reassure you, I have this symptom quite a lot and it seems to be mucus that is coming out with the fart! Its awful cos it makes me really scared to pass wind unless I run to the toilet and thats not always possible!I have posted about having excessive mucus sometimes on its own and have had several other replies.Keep smilingJane xx

Dee..Surely you cannot think you are alone in this! Many IBS D'ers have this problem.... some have it very often. Others have actual accidents... frequently... so trust me.. we get it. It's one of the more frustrating parts of having IBS. Sorry this happens to you & this, understandably, isn't a topic many like to discuss. But rest assured you are far from alone... unfortunately.
Please remember this is a group of folks seeking support on how to live with and manage IBS. THESE ARE ONLY MY OWN THOUGHTS. IF YOU WANT AN EXPERT OPINION, ASK A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate your replies. Like you, Jane, I find I am now afraid to fart just in case it's not what I thought it was!!! Ugh. I probably thought it was likely I wasn't alone in this, but it really helps to have some people step in and tell me that is correct! LOL! I guess my real issue with it, apart from it being a horrible thing to have happen and worry about, is that it is a new symptom for me. I have had IBS for well over 25 years, probably longer (I am 45) but it's only in the past few months I am getting about one of these awful wet farts a month, and it has always been when I was at home and quite relaxed so doesn't seem to fit at all.As much as IBS is awful, it used to be fairly predictable, with problems in the morning, but once I was cleared out, I was able to get on with the day without much of an issue, just maybe a lot of wind that night. But now, it is coming on at any times of the day, and often when I am at home without having to go out so no stress or pressure, and also, the wet fart symptom. Just wondering WHY it has changed now I suppose. Thanks all, REALLY appreciate the replies,Dee
