Over the past 4 years now my IBS has been getting so much worse to the point of I cant sit down after going to the toilet. Here is a typical day for me:I go to the toilet at least 5-7 times per day and its either normal or really bad diarrhea to the point of it turns to water (and this is most of the time) :( and yet I don't know how to explain what is going on whether its a infection or a real bowel problem, would anyone have any ideas? as my doctors are no help at all. It's stopping me from having a proper life, I'm getting so frustrated!!!! HELP!

Hi, I am exactly the same as you, some times it takes along time just to get off the toilet, it affects my back, chronic stomache pains etc I some times struggle with my ibs as it does try and stop me from living my life, I have been checked for all other bowel problems like Chrons and celeacs etc and all came back negative which to be honest I was pretty much diddapionted because I could have had some explanation to why I'm all ways so ill, I don't think ibs is taken as seriously as other bowel conditions but if you are a sufferer u know it can be worse, as for coping it's down the the indevidual really as everyone is different, for example if I know I'm going out I make sure I go the loo before to reduce the risk of having a attack of urgency while it in public, it's a matter of not giving in to ibs, hope this helps u B)

ranik86, have you had a diagnosis of IBS from a medical professional? It's best to treat yourself after diagnosis, to avoid the possibility of masking the symptoms of other conditions. If so what have you tried to reduce frequency? Dietry changes? Calcium? Loperimide?Assuming you have a diagnosis of IBS, I would start by reading the first post of the calcium thread and see if this helps you.
