I my name is Andrew I used to come to this site but stop coming but I have to come back if only to see I am not alone. The constant pain and constipation have really effected my life, so much so that I have developed a fear of eating normal foods. I have tried so many things and I live in edmonton Alberta has any one found a Dietition who specializes in Ibs? I need to stop thinking so much about food and I need some one to work with who has a deep understand of Ibs if anybody know of someone please let me know. Anyways just wanted to say thank you and please don't give up there has got to be a way to function with Ibs successfully.

There is a dietician in our listing of dieticians using the low FODMAP diet for IBSers on our thread here...http://www.ibsgroup.org/forums/topic/146862-low-fodmap-diet-worldwide-dietitian-registry/Looks like the closest person in there is in British Columbia, but they do phone/email consulting so they may be able to help.Since the Low FODMAP diet (even if it ends up not being the right diet for you) is primarily used to treat IBS, I would think they are the dieticians that would have a better understanding of IBS.
