bn15152, try metamucil for fiber. Its nautral but don't overdose on it. If taking the recommended amount (which is 3 times per day of 1 tablespoon on the granular variety) isn't working for you or helping than you need to see a doctor.Miralax is supposedly safe, but its not something you want to rely on unless you have to.

Also how you describe it in your original post is how it felt for me when I started getting IBS in my teens. It settles down the bottom but you just cant push it out... despite being soft.I ask your GI about outlet issues.

Yeah i think ill look into that metamucil thing. If that sounds like what you were experiencing then, what do you do now? And im thinking about getting a colonoscopy to see if there is something i can treat.

Ive been researching metamucil and it says that its mostly soluable fiber. And i read somewhere else that it is insoluable fiber that helps prevent constipation. Are you sure this is what i should try out?

There are a lot of theories about fiber, you do have to see what works for you. A lot of people find Metamucil works for constipation and it still have fair amount of insoluble fiber in it.Usually if you want insoluble only none of the supplements are going to be what you want and you may need to eat a bran cereal.

I played basketball yesterday night and afterwards i was so incredibly gassy. I dont think ive been that gassy. I assumed it was from not being able to pass that much stool. So i took a Ducolax pill at like 2 am and ive already gone and i feel 10x better already. I feel like i will need to do this a points in the future but not that often. Is that okay to take a laxative like once a month or 2?

Once or twice a month won't hurt you. Be careful, however. Stimulant laxatives can be a slippery slope, especially if they make you feel a lot better.I played basketball yesterday night and afterwards i was so incredibly gassy. Hi, I have the same issues. I take miralax every night and based on what the dr. said I thought I would be pooping my brains out and passing large formed stools and getting cleaned out . Instead it is just soft poop but not much and all sizes colors and shapes and smells. And it never feels like I am getting stuff out completely it feels like something is blocking the end of my butt. You too?Hey i have been constipated for the last 2 days which is not normal for me because i take miralax every night. It seems like when i go to the bathroom now, it is hard to get out anything whatsoever but when i do get something out, its all really soft stool. This doesnt make sense to me. Shouldnt it be easier to go then? Also it almost feels like there is something blocking or preventing me from going. Please respond with some ideas on what this is and what to do. Thanks
