yeh i have got some gonna try the questran first i think its same sort of thing a bile binder? If questran doesn't work i will try calcium have you tried them? Thanks
Lancschic, did you say you had no gall bladder? This is a quote from the first post of Linda's Calcium thread,"I had my gall bladder removed in 1976 and from that time on I had suffered urgent attacks of DIARRHEA. Went through a lot of test but nothing else could be found.I took many of the meds for bowel spasms and cramps over the years but nothing ever seemed to help. I started to take a calcium supplement to help preventbone loss in later years and from the first day I felt relief. I was pretty much a prisoner to the bathroom or had to go without eating to be able to leave the house.I must take 1 tablet with each meal and the DIARRHEA does not come back if I miss taking it I get DIARRHEA.The way it works is the calcium carbonate it a binder and when you take it only about 40% of the calcium gets to the bones and the rest is gotten rid of in our waste. During the process it gets to the intestines and soaks up excess bile and water and helps give a more solid BM. Now that you have no gall bladder the bile fluid goes directly into the intestines and causes irritation and DIARRHEA. The calcium carbonate soaks this up and no more DIARRHEA. It works great for a lot of us and you just have to take the calcium regularly"So there could be a real simple answer. Read more,http://www.ibsgroup.org/forums/topic/72764-lindas-calcium-info/It took me a while to try this as I couldn't believe, at first, that it would make much of a difference, but calcium, along with a few diet changes, has changed my life. Good luck.

Not sure your Dr is right on this one. Some IBS D'ers here HAVE been helped by Questran.
My doctor said questran won't work if its ibs so i don't know he knows more than me.
Depends... if you are still having Diarrhea after taking the Questran.. yeah it could still help you.As far as alocohol consumption and other dietary issues... everyone is different and you will have to try things on your own and see how you do.
I brought the calcium can you take both together?

thanks alot at least i am not the only 1 whos thought of it i know its stupid. My children are the only reason i am here, i don't have a dad so i know what thats like i never had a dad just a ###### step dad lol. It just sucks i am going to start the diet once my doctor check me for cd and intolerances. I know this is a struggling thing its more painful for me on my children. I am giving questran another go to see if it helps my D. I can cope with the bits of pains its the D i hate. Thank you and heres to hoping that 1 day they do find a cure, if i ever win the lotto ill donate into finding a cure! Lol
Everyone has times where life just beats them down and we just want to give up and honestly it sounds like you should talk to your doctor about some sort of counciling or anti-depressants if you are feeling that low. Lots of IBS'ers are on them just for this reason..hell it sucks that we have the stress of worrying if we will make it to a toilet in-time or even find one some days but there is cures out there and the poeple on this board are proof of that. I've been exactly where you are and I used to cry myself asleep over it night after night and wondered if death would be better but there are so many resources out there for us now a days we just have to uses them .. The thing that worked for me is Lomotile ..3 ..3 times per day..which does the trick now ..except under really stressfull siduations or long drives(which qualifies as a really stressfull siduation for me) :)And as an adult that losts her father at a very young age ....it's not a good way to grow up....unless you are an abusive mom(which you on't sound at all like)then having you in their lives is a good thing..so please keep it that way.
