Diagnosed originally with microscopic colitis in 1992 but no inflammation detected on subsequent colonoscopies,so IBS diagnosed. Hoping to share my personal opinions and experiences to help others and become more aware myself. No medical training at all.

I wouldn't worry about it. And if you are prone to over worry... I would stop looking at your stools.
Please remember this is a group of folks seeking support on how to live with and manage IBS. THESE ARE ONLY MY OWN THOUGHTS. IF YOU WANT AN EXPERT OPINION, ASK A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL.

The bad thing about flat stools is when you look it up online, all you see is that is a major sign of colon cancer. And after that, it's hard to have peace of mind unless you do the colonscopy!I read that there isn't even evidence that flat stools are linked to colon cancer. It's an 100 year old theory, but the misinformation is still out there.Flat stools are pretty common with IBS. Your system may be pushing the stuff too fast. I always get them whenever I have IBS-D pain.
