All I want is to start a proper education. But I'm too afraid to properly educate myself because of my IBS-D. I've taken small evening courses and have worked on and off. Before, I used to go out and go to Uni (courses) even though I found it extremly hard and anxiety-provoking. Then something happened. I don't really know what, my IBS was like it always been, but my psyche was not. I just stopped going out and developed some sort of agoraphobia and social fobia and public toilet fobia and being-trapped-in-a-quiet-classroom-together-with-people fobia and meeting-any-people-even-people-I'm-close-to fobia. I can't take the thought of starting an education with morning classes (how the heck would that work, my IBS is ###### in the morning, literally). I've got problems with gas and D. How do you guys do it? I sometimes can be quite sensitive, maybe that's my problem. I'm too chicken for life ... And I feel so messed up.

I have the same problem..But you need to try and do as much as you can or build it up. Have you ever thought about talking to someone? A therapist maybe..so that you can work on your anxiety..once you have that sorted out I think you will feel much better to go out and live your life as before. Good luck <3

You definitely need to see a Therapist You clearly have anxiety and phobias which could be causing or making your IBS worse. I'm on anti-depressants and they really help to keep me calm and they also help with the pain and D,they are also good for sleeping problems when taken at night.

Thank you, Leebe and Kimberley. I guess I really need to go talk to someone. I've been to therapists before with little success (on a side note, if I would name a dream job, it would be as a therapist). This time, I hope it works out better. Before I really considered anti-depressants but I'm generally against pills so I've struggled in to the last to avoid them. Now, maybe it's my only option if I want a life. Do you get bad side-effects from the A.D, Leebe? However, thank you very much for trying to help L and K.

Don't afraid, I think you are doing a good job, and if you have a problem with your classes, you can change your timing.

One thing that has really helped me with school are online classes! You still have the work but you can do it when you can. I get my work done early so if I have a bad ibs day I don't have to worry about it. I am also on anti depressants and the only thing I have noticed side effect wise is that I sleep better (so not complaining about that one!). Hope all goes well for you!

Your welcome :)....I only had dry mouth and sleepiness but as i take it at night i don't notice them by the next day, You start off at a very low dose of 10 mg then work up to 50 mg over a 6 weeks period, this way you get little side effects. Most of the common side effects fade away after a few weeks.
