I Have been on Lotronex for about a year and a half. Was taking 1 1/2 tabs and was working reasonably well. Way better than before, but still not good enough to work full time. About a month or so ago, I experienced an attack that has left me almost housebound. Now the Lotronex in the full dose alone no longer works and I'm popping Imodium like candy and drinking Questran multiple times/day.Has anyone else out there experienced a Lotronex failure?I'm also interested in just how much people are paying for this drug. For me retail is over $1100 and even with the Prometheus card, I'm still out over $360 per month with my insurance. Is that common to have to pay that much?Anyway, I'd be interested in knowing what other folks' experiences have been. Thanks, seabare.

Hello,I've been on Lotronex sinch March. I've been taking 2 .5mg tablets a day since then. I didn't start to get any relief until May when my GI doctor also prescribed me with lomotil (also 2 pills per day). I'd been on lomotil before by itself with no results, but the two together seems to work well. It's not a miracle cure. I still have some slip ups, but for the most part I'm only going about 2 times a day now, when before it was anywhere from 5-12. I pay 175-180 a month with my insurance.Hope that helps!
