citracel making things worse

hi friendsmy doctor suggested i take citracel for diarrhea to firm things up---well i had the worst attack ever on fathers day---again--plans ruined :(---should i stop taking it any one have any luck with this---hate living like this--please help--he wanted me to take citracel in place of calcium.

Well it obviously isn't helping you... I would go ahead and try the calcium carbonate.

I hate citrucel for my D. Adding any fiber to my diet = more stool = more pooping. It's very simple logic. I know it can work for some people though.

Do you use imodium,calcium or lomotil?
Diagnosed originally with microscopic colitis in 1992 but no inflammation detected on subsequent colonoscopies,so IBS diagnosed. Hoping to share my personal opinions and experiences to help others and become more aware myself. No medical training at all.
