Hi,To address my constipation i eat 2 prunes and two peaches through out the day ,and have tinned potatoes for my tea every day.More then often i suffer with leakage after a bowel movement like most.If i dont have the fruit i suffer with hard stools which have caused haemorrhoids and a very sore bum lolWith the leakage i get very sore sometimes, but only where the haemorrhoids were.I was wondering if eating potatoes every day may be a bit to much in regards to fibre. Also i was wondering if theres a barrier cream i could use on my bum to help reduce and protect against the leakage ?I was thinking of Vaseline or sudocrem (a napkin rash cream),but am concerned about the possible risk of making the skin worse,or even producing haemorrhoids.Thank you

Hi, When my bottom gets sore I use baby rash cream. I know it is funny but it works very well. Hope that helps a little. Thanks!

I've had IBS-C for 3 years and follow a very healthy high fiber diet, I'm starting to believe fiber causes me to be clogged up. I wonder who else thinks they have this problems?

My GI tells me not to eat any insoluble fiber and wants me on a low residue diet and taking psyllium daily. However this does not exactly work.

Too much fiber caused my IBS-C to be worse which also causes fissures. The thing that has helped me most with C is taking psyllium. 1 tsp psyllium mixed in 12 oz of water a.m. & p.m. I use plain organic psyllium. If you use the flavored one you would have to adjust the dose because of additives. It must be in 12 ounces of water.

I avoid a lot of fiber - particularly things like Raisins, Prunes, Nuts, Whole Wheat Cereals - these all make me flare up and it takes about 10 days to resolve. I'm personally wary of too much fiber.
