Ok this is something that's been bugging me for awhile. Why do I never see ad's on TV spreading the awareness of IBS or why arnt there Races to help fund IBS research. There are races and ad's for other illnesses and disabilities.Heck work places and schools don't really support people with IBS but they are required to support people that are handicapped or have disease's or something.I just feel there is very little awareness and support for IBS sufferers. PS: Sorry for my bad writing style.

I totally agree with you. The stats are that 10 to 15% of north americans have IBS. That seems like a large number and you never hear about it anywhere. I often wonder the same thing.

It is disappointing that there is not funding to research IBS as you say. The lack of compassion and understanding by doctors probably doesnt help. IBS can be severely debilitating and its a shame that for the most part, we are simply told to 'get on with it'.

I think its because say with 'cancer' you can die from it so they fund raise because you may or may not live. With ibs you can't die so no fund raising but i totally agree it should be talked about more. I didn't even no what ibs was till i got it so even though it is popular people still don't know about it. They say 1 in every 5 people in the uk have it i don't know anyone. So its either people don't like to say they have ibs or they counted wrong! Lol they is a site we could all donate on for researchers but would it make a differance? Are they really going to find a cure?? Ive read its all about the brain so i doubt they could fix that.
