Hi,I'm a 20 years old male and I just discovered this forum after having a strange right lower abdomen swelling- or more like a lump of some sort. I ALWAYS freak out about any sort of pain in that area as appendicitis is something I greatly fear. It may sound paranoid, but each time I feel anything in that area I immediately research appendix related symptoms etc. Well, for over a week now my fear returned to me, in the form of a strange swelling that pops up and disappears. I do not have any other symptoms of appendicitis such as vomiting, diarrhea, strong pains (or any pains at all) coming from the stomach area to the belly button and going down to the right lower abdomen, the area being rash-like red etc. The only thing that happens is that swelling that pops up and goes away. While it happened for over a week now, it hasn't been happening every single day, there are days when it didn't appear at all. I can even push down on the left and right side of my abdomen with no pain occurring, and pull my legs up while standing up,sitting down, lying etc.(I read that it's also a method to find if you have appendicitis). However, it came back this morning and is causing a very mild nausea and a very little lack of appetite. Other than that, again, I have no other symptoms.Anything else that I can add to that, is that whenever I feel it popping up again, I suck my stomach in and it goes away. I'm also skinny, so whenever I feel anything in that area being mildly hard I freak out, though it could just be me being paranoid.I have read man posts, articles etc. about the pains in the right abdomen area, and found out like 50 different diseases, yet none talk about the thing that I have been experiencing. I stumbled upon few posts on different forums describing just about what I'm having, yet there were very, very few that were close to my problem.I have tried all the methods (that I can check on my own) to see if I have appendicitis and they all failed- pushing down on my abdomen on both sides, pulling my legs up, coughing etc. and they all failed.Apart from that, as I mentioned before, the swelling appears and disappears, sometimes it stays for a while longer becoming small but a bit hard and goes away. I searched everywhere until I stumbled upon this forum, with hope of getting some help. The closet thing that I THINK I might have is some sort of gastric problem, as the swelling sometimes 'blurps' and goes away. But that might just be me being optimistic- and hopefully right. So my question is, what could this swallowing be? It's been happening now and again for a week, with no symptoms accompanied to it at all, no other symptoms happening, no pain at all but very light nausea and a very small lack of appetite (though this happened only today so far).EDIT:I also forgot to mention some bloating in the the abdomen area, though it goes away rather fast, mostly with passing gas or going to the toilet.

Hi there, Epic!Don't you worry about how 'you sound' ... I am sure that nearly everyone at sometime or another has gone through exactly what you are going through. Paranoia runs rather rampant at times! ;) And no, nothing you have said or done sounds 'weird', I'm sure, to any of us! B) I know you maybe don't want to, but I have a feeling tht you would feel a LOT better if you would please go to the doc, explain your symptoms, and get a check up.It does sound like it 'could be' appendicitis. Epic, that need NOT scare you. That is the "7-Eleven" of surgeries and you are up and att'm in less than a week. Honest. It could be a tender spot that tends to become blocked (with poop, in plain language)... It could be many things that are 'easily fixed.'...(remember those words! :) )You will feel SO MUCH BETTER if you get it checked out. You owe that to yourself to make you feel better and get some peace of mind. Good luck to you!

Hi Epic, I have just seen your post and am keen to see whether you found a diagnosis for the symptoms you describe. I also have the exact same symptoms and have been putting off going to the Doctor for fear of the result, but I know I have to face it soon. You could not have described my symptoms more accurately! Any indication of what it may be would be appreciated.Hi,I'm a 20 years old male and I just discovered this forum after having a strange right lower abdomen swelling- or more like a lump of some sort. hi mate, not sure if this osmthe same thing. But i have had pains and swelling in lower abdomen which get bad during exercise. I got told from my gastro doctor it was from a impacted small intestine. I have just done a little bog about it on mytummytantrum.com if you are interested. Maybe try a couple of months of bowel cleansing with limited diet, no meat etc??cheersJordan
