HiI'm having problems for the first time since I've had IBSNormally I can control my symtoms with the food I eat as i now know what food triggers my flare upsthis time my flare up just won't finish and its now making me feel really down, the worst part always lands on the weekends which causes issues in my relationship as I can only see my boyfriend at weekendsmy flare up seems to be like clockwork in how long it lasts and what my body doeswhat i would like to know does anyone else have this kind of flare up and can anyone give me information that might help mebasically it starts with constipation but i wouldn't even class it as that, i manage to go to the toilet but don't properly go as much as I shouldthis then leads to a pain down my right side that feels like an ongoing uncomfortable stitch i then have one day when i'm going to the toilet quite often, it then goes to kind of like wormy stools which then turns into squelchy wind on the toilet which might lead to a bit of movement, my final stage is kind of like an explosion which empties out small harder stools, this is when i know it's all over and i can go back to normalfor the last 5 weeks, i get to this stage but the explosion doesn't happen and then it goes back to square one, the pain down my right side is constant and this goes when i have the explosionif i try laxatives or anything the doctor suggests then i manage to empty my bowels but go back to stage one again, ive even tried to eat the foods that normally have a huge effect on me but nothing works

My IBS pain is usually right sided too! Stitch like is how I've described it before..At the moment however it's more bloating & acid reflux is a new issue to arise & cheese me right off! I dunno what advice to give you, but I can offer some comfort in the fact that I understand your discomfort...Flare ups can last weeks & weeks right? ..I mean, maybe I'm having a flare up right now, I wonder how we'll cope life long with this.

Mine has never lasted more than a week so this is getting me down really bad - have no idea why my body has its little routine as from reading other comments people seem to manage with laxatives etc but my body seems to do its own thing - I really want to know why now my body won't finish the last of the flare up - if this is now my life then things will have to change dramatically and not sure I will cope
