Hello,I am a 24 year old female diagnosed with IBS-C two weeks ago. I have struggled with constipation as long as I can remember (farther back than teenage years). As a teenager and into college I would experience intense lower abdomen pains accompanied by gas and usully relieved by a BM. They occured a couple times a month or less and were manageable. I chose to go to my doctor after I experienced the most intense abdomen pain I have ever felt (I don't even have words to describe) in the morning that lasted for almost an hour followed by days of mild to moderate stomach pain. This pain was not relieved by a BM. The intense pain was in my lower abdomen, the mild to moderate pain moved around but was mostly in my upper addomen right under by rib cage. I also experineced naseau and lack of appetite. After my diagnosis I have followed a strict diet and have made a BM everyday for 12 days (a miracle really). The problem is that in two weeks I have had 5 similar episodes to the one descrobed above (this is the 3rd day in a row). I feel like food isn't a trigger due to the diet mentioned above and also my pain occur 9-11 hours after my last meal. I am unsure what to do this is affecting all aspects of my life work, emotional health, tiredness, sex, etc.? I have an appointment at the end of the month with my gastro guy (hopefully we can find a more suitable solution).Any thoughts for the interim?
