Usually if a diverticuli gets infected you will have fever with it. It is hard to get an infection bad enough to cause severe pain with no other symptoms at all. Also once you are pretty clear on what level your pain normally ranges in, what you look for is something way out of that range (either intensity or if your pain can come and go if it comes on and stays on way past the usual calm down time).

I also get worried about the pains in my stomach. At the moment i am experiencing a different type of pain than what i usually get with ibs. But where i am already diagnosed whenever i go to the doctor about it they always put it down to ibs even though i say that it's a very different type of pain. Has anyone any suggestions?
