As far as I can see IBS is translation for, "something's wrong with your gut and we don't know what." Am I wrong?
This all started 7 years ago and came back annually only in the winter with severe diarrhea, many times a day and severe abdominal pain. This year, it came back in the winter but hasn't left. The stomach pain isn't as bad, but gas and D is still here for seven months now. I've tried:
Gluten free
Dairy free
Coffee free
All three of those at the same time
Endoscopy, colonoscopy, upper/lower GI
Stool tests of a variety - no parasites, evident bacterial infections
Celiac - negative
DGL and high end fish oils have made it tolerable...meaning I don't have to go a bazillion times a day but the gas is still ridiculous. (I recently farted in front of one of my dates before we even got around to a kiss - funny...but not!)
Have noticed pretzels, strawberries, likely high fructose fruits often aggravate and super high fat dairy products. I have kept food diaries but rarely did this lead to an epiphany. When it is bad, it's bad.
Tried bethozyne and it does nothing. Loparamide helps some.
Other suggestions? Any suggestions for the gas control?
