Ok here you go!
I am new to this blog and I am going out with someone tonight and I don't know if reading all these stories will make be better or worst !!!
I am a 23 year old male.
So it all began 2 and a half years ago! I was with this girl driving her home after eating a "melting hot chocolate cake (fondant)" and i was stuck in traffic, and suddenly i felt my stomack popping.I fainted !! So she kept asking what's wrong and I was like " nothing " telling myself if she asks one more time I am gonna throw her out of the car. ( I am not a mean person but you guys would understand : ) )
And literally I was "standing up and driving" ...
I had 3 choices :
1 either throw her out of the car
2 throw myself out of the car
3 or let it go
So miraculously enough we arrived at her place, and she was willing to talk more before i shut her up and I drove like crazy to a close mall.. I spent 2 hours in the bathroom, meanwhile i was thanking god that I resisted...
The worst part is since then it started to get me regularly !
What can you do in such case ? it's so embarassing !!
I can't even go to watch a concert ! Each time when i go to a place i have to map out the bathroom just to feel at ease !!!
I used to be an extremely outgoing person, now it's killing me ! I prefer to be at home safe and warm !!
I am lactose intolerant too !!
I am trying now Align... One month now,, and I start taking Dannone Activia (yogurt) too,,, I dunno if it is good or bad!
When I told my doctor he was kind of laughing and he told me to see a psychiatrist !!
Ok sorry for the long text ! But it's coming from my heart !!
I need help !

I understand
10/22/2009 - 13:41For starters, everyone passes gas and has a bowel movement. If they say they don't then they either lie or you better take cover because they are about to pop. On to our problem. Us "IBS" folks just go more or less then consider the norm with painful complications. The best way is to find a girl who understands that when you got to go you got to go and who can tolerate brief moments of unfavorable odor. Personally, I have a competition with my husband who also suffers from IBS. Just follow doctors orders and find a routine that works best for you. I was embarrass at first to use a public restroom, but that is what a restroom is for. Keep in mind though, IBS is not a good first date conversation. Over time, we learn not to focus on IBS and learn to focus on life. Act like it is nothing and it will become nothing.
First off if your doctor told
10/20/2009 - 17:55First off if your doctor told you to see a Psychiatrist you should find a new GI Dr or a new Primary Care Dr. Your doctor should be supportive and help you get through this.
I'm 24 and I feel the same way you do! I used to be real outgoing too but now I rather stay home where I feel safe. If there is something big like a concert or a sporting event that all my friends are going to I try and suck it up and go. I'll normally take about 4 Imodium AD before I go even if I haven't had an "episode" yet. Recently I just went to Florida for my cousins wedding and I would take them before I left my hotel room for the day. I didn't go all weekend it was so nice. It all returned when I stopped taking it and returned home. I want to go out and do things but I worry too much when I'm out wondering what if I have an issue because it is embarressing trying to find a rest room and in a public place. Do you have a girlfriend if so is she supportive? Good luck to you! If you ever need to talk and get stuff of your chest I'm here for you feel free to email me Leanne8502@aol.com or message me on here.
