Hi, sorry you're in a lot of pain. There are quite a few threads on this board regarding post-BM pain that you should be able to find. I can dig them out if you can't. Did you have any infections or abdominal procedures before this all started? I ask because your symptoms can be from adhesions which can form after such events. To be clear: I'm not a doctor - just a fellow sufferer.

My issue is a lot of the same. I've always thought it was odd since most descriptions of IBS indicate that pain is relieved by a bowel movement. I usually wake up feeling fine, have a bowel movement and then have pain followed by several more bowel movements. Sometimes the subsequent bowel movements relieve the pain, but often I just feel irritated all day long. I still have not found a cause or relief. I'm currently waiting on IgG food sensitivity tests, and am trying a low sugar diet and Glutamine supplementation.

I am in the same boat. I feel extreme pain and fullness after a bowel movement.

Here is my story:Hello, my name is Sydney, I am 20 years old, and suffer from chronic abdominal and pelvic pain. I have been through the ringer with abdominal medical testing (colonoscopy, endoscopy, gastric emptying, colon biopsy, barium enema, manometry, and so on...) which has still left me with no answers because all the tests showed up normal. I am just now seeing a gynecologist and they are going to do further testing, but I am very skeptical that they can help me at all because I have had no luck with doctors. Here is what happens: I have abdominal pain, fullness, tightness, and trapped gas most or almost every second of my life. I have dealt with my constipation by taking OxyPowder and using a SquattyPotty, but I still experience pain. Almost everyday, after I have a bowel movement, I experience pain and incompleteness. I experience pelvic and urinary pain often. The pelvic pain is hell for about 10 days before my period, eases up slightly, and then returns halfway through my period, where an occasional trip to the ER is made because the pain leaves me screaming/crying. I have pain in my pelvis when I defecate, so thank god for the squatty potty or I wouldn't be able to push anything out at all. I have pain in my pelvis most times after intercourse. When ever I have a BM, I experience cramping, incomplete movement, and pain afterwards. I feel fatigued and just plain tired all the time (not how a 20 year old who is overall very healthy, should feel). I had a cyst on my ovary when I was younger, and started my cycle very late. Don't know if that factors in at all. Living in pain everyday makes it very difficult to be happy, but I manage because I have support. Eating is almost 85-90% of the time accompanied with pain. Before you ask, yes, I have been through the ringer with food allergies, and have avoided foods throughout my life. Done the fodmaps, went paleo/whole food, I take vitamins, do yoga, walk/jog, and was a vegetarian for years but had to add meat in my diet to help me go and have some energy. If anyone has any suggestions, I really appreciate it.

Hi Sydney, I'm so sorry that you're going through this hell too and at such a young age. My issues started at 21 BTW. I've not had any luck with any doctors or diets either. The most helpful thing I've tried is oxycodone and we all know what a nightmare that is long-term! I totally empathise with you, esp "I have abdominal pain, fullness, tightness, and trapped gas most or almost every second of my life." I have to try so hard not to get incredibly depressed because of this. It's like my entire pelvic region has become hyper sensitized and thus I "feel" horrible sensations all day long. If it's not horrific bloating it's sharp pain. If it's not sharp pain, it's dull pain or aching and so on. It's indescribable.

I'm scared of sitting too long on the loo, of pushing "too hard" or even squeezing since I seem to get incredible muscle spasms or hernia or something afterwards. All of my tests come back clean every time. I'm at my wit's end.

Sorry not to be of actual help but you can at least count me in the same bucket. Please post or PM me with any helpful tests or treatments you try and good luck.

It is nice to have others with similar understanding. I am a musician/singer/folk-singer and it holds me back from pursuing my life. I can actually barely work. I am in the process of getting some female testing done, which I hope can point me with some answers. I understand feeling very depressed. I hope all is well for you and I will keep you updated on anything that gives me relief. Also, try OxyPowder if you are backed up and a squatty potty
