Does anyone suffer from this? It is like there is something abrasive (like a coarse cloth) stuck up there. It makes sitting difficult and is very annoying. Some days its worse than others .
Can this particular symptom be related to food allergies? I have a lot of food allergies(true allergies not intolerances) after an infection which started the IBS. Is it possible for an allergen to irritate the colon and cause this symptom?
Any advice is appreciated.

probably a silly question but it's not hemorrhoids, is it? i'm guessing you've already thought of that.
there's also something called proctalgia fugax--that's usually severe pain.

maybe have a doctor check it out...
these are just my own thoughts. for expert medical advice please contact a health care professional.

I don't remember what your diet was. Fungal problems are exacerbated by yeasty foods (bread, cheese, beer, vinegar), most commercial dairy, refined flours, gluten, sugar, coffee, soda, alcohol ... even white rice was bad for me.

I'm not sure Annie it could be hemorrhoids but during bowel movements I don't see any sign off bleeding nor does it hurt to have one. I don't strain during bowel movements either. Some days I wake up with this irritation which gets easier as the day goes on and some days I don't have the irritation .

My diet is whole wheat chapatis, curries, milk, eggs, white rice etc. I am also allergic(itching on body, hives) to many foods.

Thanks for the info lithium. I am sorry I have no real answers to your problem. All I can do is to continue searching and experimenting.

Lithium, I am going to recommend this "hygeinic cleanser" for you which is used to wipe sensitive vaginal and anal areas. My GI in New York recommended it and I found it to be very helpful for my soreness issue.
It's called "Balneol". Try looking it up online if you can. It may be a bit expensive because when I got it it was around $28.
Good luck!
