If I don't eat 5 small, frequent, well chewed meals, drink consistantly, and take my supplements timely as well, I have VERY strong IBS spasms, then traps gas and further irritates lower gi tract, and causes reflux and gastritis in upper gi tract. I searched unbiased, positive reviews and read about 2 studies showing efficacy, as well as any side effects and contradictions. I am replacing the l-glutamine which is the precursor with the more direct n-acetylglucosamine (NAG) for the IBD part. Also noticed a Canadian NAG product that is marketed for IBD healing, but is enteric coated and thought it might cause IBS spasming for those of us with these double cases, if best has to be taken alone on an empty stomach to better repair intestines.
