I posted this over a year ago on this forum: http://www.ibsgroup....-a-problem-now/

The difference now is that I've gained weight (muscle), due to a healthy diet. And I take only half a dose of miralax a day, I have weaned down from 2 doses a day. Actually I haven't taken any miralax at all for a whole week now. I poop about every day with no complaints whatsoever.

Go read what I wrote, especially go to the nutritionfacts.org stuff. Don't do stupid things like fasting or limiting your fiber. Eat like a normal person. Except most Americans don't get enough fiber. See what I wrote about that. Now I get 70 to 80 grams of fiber in my diet every day.

Get off the blasted Internet, do not go searching for stupid anecdotal evidence from other people. nutritionfacts.org gives you hard science that you can bank on. The Internet will otherwise kill you by your asking Google about every one of your fears. Eat like your good old grandmother did. Eat food with lots of fiber. Eat fruit especially, I'll never forget how eating more fruit (especially apples) virtually fixed my chronic constipation in a matter of days- https://nutritionfacts.org/video/how-much-fruit-is-too-much/.

I know you're afraid, that's okay, I was really afraid too. See what I wrote in my earlier post about God. You can trust that He is with you always, that He loves you.

Again and finally, get off the Internet. Trying to figure out my own scientific solution led to doing the stupidest thing I ever did- I ate only jello for at least a month. So stupid. And I was obsessed with laxative medicine. Very bad.

If I did it, you can do it! I believe in you!

Thanks for posting this.  I was really blessed by it, and I'm glad that your constipation has improved over the past year.  It gives me hope that perhaps mine will improve as well.  I'm going to try out your idea by adding more apples and oranges to my daily diet and see if that helps.

By doing so, I will be taking in more water, more soluble fiber, and plenty of vitamin C which is a laxative in large quantities.

The remarks about God loving us and being with us during trials really helped me.  Thanks for posting that.

Thanks for posting, but isn't it ironic that you say "get off the internet and stop reading stupid anecdotal evidence" and yet yours is an anecdotal evidence... and I am reading here on the net.

Congratulations on the success story i have been telling people who use only miralax and osmotic laxatives to get cleaned actually they are off the boat since their bowels can still work the liquid from the laxaative and move it throught the bowel and i say again proudly that those who are off of some stimulant laxatives can actually go even without them but the fear of not going to the toilet and the psyhological state somehow doens't let us .
