Recruitment for this study has ended, currently awating results.

If you're an IBS-D patient and are looking for new treatment options this might be something for you. Boston Pharmaceuticals has just started a new trial to test its IBS drug BOS-589. The company has already successfully completed a Phase 1 Clinical Safety Trial and has now initiated a so called Phase 2a Trial seeking to asses how well the new medication can ease abdominal pain in Diarrhea-predominant patients. The trial takes place in many States across the USA (see a list of trial sites below).
If you're thinking about participating in this trial and would like to learn more I suggest you take a look at the official information provided at ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT03977155). Here you can find everything you need to know including where the trials will be conducted. In case you have any questions, I recommend getting in touch with the Hospital or treatment center running the study near you or maybe give Boston Pharmaceuticals a call.

Information about BOS-589:
BOS-589 is a selective and colon-restricted RET (REarranged during Transfection) kinase inhibitor for the treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome. RET kinase is important for normal neuronal signaling and development. By utilizing its characteristics the researches are seeking to normalize the functions of the Enteric Nervous System (the nervous system responsible for most of the your intestines) and thereby easing abdominal pain and diarrhea.

Recruitment for this study has just begun so only a few sites have started to enroll patients as we speak, however all of them will begin recruitment in the coming months.
