Not sure. I guess it depends on what the recommended dose of it is. If you are going way over that then it's probably contributing to your bloating problems in a big way.

Pills or drinks?The drinks tend to have more grams of fiber. from the Citrucel website it takes 4 pills to equal one scoop and Two scoops a day of citrucel should be OK (Same amount of fiber as in metamucil and for cholesterol control you can take three doses of that a day).A scoop dose is 2 grams of fiber. It depends on your diet as well but most people (non IBSers) need something like 25-35 grams of fiber a day but when you get up in the 50+ range it may cause some people some discomfort (you are just too filled with fiber).Some people with IBS may find even the usual dose of fiber most people tolerate to be uncomfortable.K
