In the ten years I've had IBS-D I've never had a remission but sometimes I've had rather formed stools but always the mucus is intertwined in them. What I was wondering is those of you who do go into remission does the mucus go away?
Speaking for only myself, I can say yes, it does go away. But it comes back every now and then. I can say it's been back maybe 3 times in the last eight months. It was triggered by antibiotics, or me missing a (med)pill. I can usually tell if it's coming back by the itchy, painful feeling I get on the right side of my stomach.
