Hi reddeadwengler You mention your pain is on your left side, where abouts???I suffer from a lot of pain in my left hand side, anywhere between my ribs (and under) to my pelvis, front/side or back, pain can be described in many many ways, just depends on how it feels at any given time...How long have you felt like this? How old are you etc?

HiI had pain on the left side, it was sharp at times, but mostly constant cramping. I suffered for 10 months with Dr. telling me it was IBS, scheduled me for a colonoscopy, which I haven't done yet. I was bloated, extreme gas, basically has changed my life.....on meds for cramps...........To make a long story short...I was so frustrated and sick of being sick. I tried Acidopholus and within 1 day NO MORE CRAMPS, felt completely back to normal. I must have had some pretty bad bacteria in my intestines. I'm on Day 5 and my symptoms have not returned. I have no issues with bm now. Give it a try, Doc tested me for a lot of things and said....IBS.Good luck

can i ask wat Acidopholus is?
It is a probiotic. Probiotics are bacteria really. ALL of us have a particular balance of various bacteria in our guts. (Even people without IBS) And sometimes those gut bacteria get out of balance & that can cause us GI symptoms. Probiotics can help restore the balance we need.We have a forum all about them here:http://www.ibsgroup.org/forums/index.php?showforum=40Be sure to click on the one thread thumbtacked to the top of the page entitled "Common Probiotics for this Category".All the best
