Check out the board on fibromyalgia. It is a disorder that is often found in people with IBS. It is an auto-immune disorder of the soft tissues of the joints. I take an SSRI which helps, and painkillers when I have a flareup. Then again, you may have carpal tunnel. See your Dr., fibro is best diagnosed by a rhumatologist.AZ

Yes I have an achy swollen feeling in my hands every once in a while and almost always have a wicked D attack soon after I notice it. When this happens it usually lasts for days and nothing really helps.I always figured it was some kind of toxic build up in my system. I have no idea what it is but I always know I'm in for it when my hands start to ache (between the fingers).Weird !
It is possible to have arthritis even as a child. If you are concerned or are in significant pain, you should ask your doctor.I take an arthritis drug called Celebrex which helps - but there are other options.Good luck!
