Does anyone know if Amoxicillin affects the Caltrate I am taking for IBS-D? Normally I get the D from the amoxicillin. I didn't know if the Caltrate would help or if I should just hold off until the amox is done. I have had a tummyache for the past day while taking both. I'm taking the amox for a sinus infection.

The thing that's most helpful to avoid D from antibiotics is a probiotic. the probiotic will restore the "good" bacteria that were killed by the antibiotic. I don't know of any reaction between calcium and antibiotics. I take probiotics regularly (Digestive Advantage over the counter). I would most definitely take a probiotic following a course of antibiotics.
