Sorry your are feeling so awful Gina. You've probably heard my story before. Sounds like yeast is a possiblity. Good luck finding a doc.. They seem to be hard to come by, but worth the search. I did take a leave of abscence because it was wearing on me- too long before I finally found the answers in the form of a well respected allergist. Some might call it environmental medicine. I know flux could flinch when he hears that. Just as in any business, there are quacks in all areas- even conventional medicine. I went to one before I got this one. Fortunately, I recognized the fact, before the quack finally was going to get around to actually treating me. Honeybee lucked out and had a gastroenterologist treat her, so there are some out there who are finally seeing the light. No doubt, especially these days, your job is stressful, as was nursing. I was having too much fun before I really realized it though. I know I can never go back, as it is more physical than my bod can handle anymore though since fibro, and candida took over. I admire what you do. I think the teaching and medical profession are among the most important jobs on earth. I am currently volunteering tutoring a ESL person, and it is a delight!I usually can handle herbal tea and crackers/Country Hearth Wheat toasted English Muffin. Put plain butter/nut butter on it. Sometimes I even eat an apple. I can handle a little tender hulless popcorn too (with butter and salt). I was losing a lot of weight too. The Food allergy testing and antifungal with low sugar diet treatment helped me to get back on track again with eating. I had to cut out juices and soda as well as the already usuals: coffee and alcohol for IBSers. Try to stay away from white flour products with high yeast. Hope you find answers for your problem soon Gina. Hang in there. You may need a break to get this all sorted out. I handed in an application last week, as I am finally started to feel I may be handle a few hours of work a day again. Never give up hope. PS. I didn't have yeast in the esophogeal/problems with reflux too much as far as I know. If it is a yeast problem, you may have to wait until the treatment works before you can eat less than 2hrs before bedtime. There was a period I had where I remember I couldn't seem to eat less than 2hrs. before bedtime before the treatment though. ------------------[This message has been edited by moldie (edited 09-18-1999).]
