The during/shortly after meals is pretty typical as the colon becomes more active after meals normally and in IBSers that is often exagerated. Some people find taking pepperming or a small dose of imodium 20-30 minutes before a meal can help calm down that reaction. If the doctor prescribed antispasmodic medication that can help as well.Ditto on LNAPE's calcium threads (300-600mgs calcium carbonate with meals) and Heather's site/books www....comYou might want to check out http://www.ibsaudioprogram100.com/ and over on the Cog. Behav. Therapy and Hypnotherapy forum. A lot of people find this program really helps with the stress-triggered IBS thing.K.
