Hi, I noticed you hadn't had any replies yet, so thought I'd respond. Have you thought any about what you're drinking. For example, are juices or dairy (which you may be intolerant to) possibly the culprit, rather than the liquid itself? Does the bloating happen with water alone? Speaking for myself only, I can get a mega-episode of gas after drinking anything with dairy, and sometimes (sometimes not) citrus juices can be problematic for me. Since each individual is different, your "safe" foods may be different than mine, but again speaking for myself I can easily tolerate water, tea, apple juice, soy milk, carrot juice, celery juice, and ginger juice. Anything else can be a problem for me.

Yes Shadowz, Drinking just water makes me as full and bloated as if I ate a 3 course meal. Sucks doesn't it! Right now I am sipping some wine and it is giving me the same effect as if I ate a big fat bagel. I can't figure it out but an trying my damest!

I drink water, plain water, constantly, I never even thought about that causing my severe bloating because it starts first thing and gets progressively worse as the day goes on. Wow, thanks for another clue to what the heck is going on in my body. Is there a specific way to drink that you do not swallow air? maybe I am doing something wrong and what about the water itself, I drink mostly well water and bottled water, is there a "safe" water for us?

hi, I also feel the same.. bloating after drinking not from water though.. its from those cereal drinks. I got so scared of eating food and someone recommend it..but its giving me a bad feeling inmy tummy everytime I drink it.. its non-dairy thats why im so puzzled why.. I feel like I need to belch a real big one but its trapped.. and then I'll drink a bit of water and I will burp just a bit .. and feel a bit of satisfaction.. but I still feel that the real big thing is still inside... by the way.. I just want to ask.. does your bloating also last for days? like its totaly hard and tender for days witout changing?? just oocasional relief from a small burp and back to to being bloated in minutes?? mine is like that.. its been 3 days now

Hi I only drink water and herbal tea. I can phyisically see the bloating begining when i first drink a glass of water in the morning. For many years I thought it was just weak stomach muscles not realizing it was most likly a digestive problem, as I do not suffer from C or D, gas, pain or any other type of stomach discomfort. So finaly this year I went to the doctors. Well that was a big mistake. I have been muck around by male doctors and a GI over this not taking me seriously or carig, coming up with conclusions that it is gas IBS only after spending 5 mintues with me and not listing to what I have to say. After all I am the one that knows how my feels they do not. The GI I went and saw quickly brush off onto a IBS dietitian. I have been on a lactose free diet for 5 weeks have not seen any improvement especially when I was told that I was lasctose intolerant. For the last 3 weeks I have been on fructan free diet as that may be the other problem have not see any imrovements. Honestly I think they are only assuming that it may be a food interance. Not any of these professionals could not explain the bloating while drinking water. I know that it is not in my head because I read about other people suffering from the same problem.

Yeah I can definitely tell you its not. This thing I am feeling in my tummy is too much just to be a pigment of my imagination. Some docotrs just thought theyre too big to handle minor things that they tend under estimate their patients. Geez I hope there is one miracle tablet that can cure all this thing just by taking it. wait are u tender in the tummy too? you can try drinking dried orange peeling.. just dry it in the sun for 3 days or so untill its brown and quite hard.. then boil it in water.. helped my bloating.. learn it from a chinese doc. its herbal so no harm trying
