My doctor told me to avoid sugars as they are not good if you have IBS. But I am not sure which sweetner I should substitute it with. Are there any I should avoid (I think sorbitol is not good) - anyone have any suggestions, please?
Actually sugar is probably better for you than an artificial sweetner. Most articial sweeteners are made with sugar alcohols which are Diarrhea triggers for many people... even those without IBS!I think some sugar is fine.. just make sure it isn't a huge amount. Ya know what they say.. "Everything in moderation." type thing.I hear of more Dr's saying to avoid fatty foods more than sugar.
