I have rheumatoid arthritis. I am having a colonoscopy done in a few weeks for IBS. Are people with RA more likely to have IBS? Thanks!

I dunno PPP. But I think fibromyalgia is consider an autoimmune disorder and we have quite a few folks here with that. So many that they have a forum here. You can get there by using the "Hop To:" navigator at the bottom of the page or just click here: http://www.ibsgroup.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php...m&f=9&submit=Go Maybe you could post your question over there too.Anyway be sure to check out all of our forums here. You might want to check out the "Diagnostic Tests" forum to learn more about colonoscopies too.

Once you have one autoimmune disease, you are at a higher risk to get another autoimmune disease. IBS is NOT an autoimmune disease. The American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association (AARDA) has a website that lists the 80+ autoimmune diseases.
