Besides wearing bigger clothes, what do you do when you are bloated?

Ok, I know we all experience bloating, but what I want to know is what we can do to minimize it besides exercising and staying away from trigger foods? I have to change to my bigger size pants but I would like to see how to minimize the bloating. Any suggestions?

For bloating.1. If it is gas, minimize gas producing foods2. If it is gas, try taking probiotics as they produce less gas from gas producing foods.3. Digestive enzymes can help, particularly if farting or belching doesn't make you unbloat. A prescription brand is the one that has been tested for this, but I use GNC's Enzyme digestant at the start of a meal and it eliminates the post-meal bloat I sometimes get from medications that doesn't go away with farting and belching.4. Hypnotherapy see www.ibshypnotherapy.com K.------------------I have no financial, academic, or any other stake in any commercial product mentioned by me.My story and what worked for me in greatly easing my IBS: http://www.ibsgroup.org/ubb/Forum17/HTML/000015.html

I'll see K's suggestions and raise you a couple warm remedies:1. A $10 electric heating pad works wonders.2. Various herbal teas benefit me somewhat...such as Eater's Digest blend by Traditional Medicinals & about any brand of chamomile tea.3. I PREVENT a great deal of my bloating by TOTAL avoidance of products containing high fructose corn syrup--that means soft drinks, breads, candies, etc. My beverage of choice is water (or the above mentioned teas), I make my own whole wheat bread in a bread machine, and I just don't do the candy thing at all. Whole wheat vs. white flour products whenever I can too...pastas etc.Happy deflating.

I have been taking Fennel and digestive enzymes before each meal (one of each) and the combination seems to ease the bloating somewhat. I am not sure which of the two actually works the best, so I am sticking with both together right now. I also have been drinking ginger tea after dinner and that helps also. I still get a little bloated during the day, but not as bad as before, and alot less gas also! I wear drawstring pants and loose dresses on the days I feel bloated

Fennel and ginger are ingredients in the Eater's Digest tea that I drink after almost every evening meal.
