TomUS News and World Report does all sorts of ranking - notably colleges and grad schools. I tihnk they found this a good way to sell magazines. You have to remember that like the schools, most of it is based on people's opinions. As far as what diseases they considered, I don't thikn they were specific in that (I read the one last year). ON the web site, they mention the few but I read that more as an example for what gastroenterologist treat rather than what was used to rate them on. It seemed informational in case you dind't know what kind of problems they treated. Of course, you won't find a person on this BB who doesn't know what they do, but in the general population, that's probably not true.nancy
