I just had my first appt with a gastro doc this morning. I lucked out...I really liked him. There is a medical group that many doctors are connected to where I live (Sharp Health Care) and I went to their website. I used the physician referral link which had all the gastros listed, plus some info on them. I based my decision based on age (didn't want someone too old and set in their ways, but didn't was someone fresh out of med school...my doc is 49), their schooling/residency/internship, and practice philosophy. It worked well for me.Good luck in finding a good doctor.
