Bladder pain anyone?

I've had IBS for about 10 years, but this past year I started to experience some base of bladder pain. No urgency involved, no bladder infection, nothing my MD or OB/GYN could find wrong. The bladder pain differs in intensity from mild discomfort to severe on different days. It usually preceeds some D or gas. Does anyone else have anything like this? I can't find any reference to plain 'ole bladder pain in the books I've read.

I used to have a lot of urinary tract infection especially when I was very stressed. For years my doctors always found some miniscule amounts of blood in my urine. But nothing definitive was ever found. I think that it may have been due to IBS,because I have had a very mild case of it (mostly C and sometimes D) for over 25 years but no doctor ever diagnosed it. I wish doctors were better detectives, I think they have lost the desire to think things through. It is the rare doctor that reflects about his patients at night. Sorry, about the book, I think I got carried away. Knudsens cranberry juice concentrate(NO SUGAR) acidifies urine or other c.diluted juice and helps promote bladder health. Try som warm sitz baths they may release gas and other discomfort. I used to work on a urology ward and the first thing we would give our patients is the above fluid. Feel better soon, belle

I was diagnosed with bladder spasms about a year ago. It was extremely painful. I would have a crampy discomfort after emptying my bladder. I started taking levbid ER once a day and it solved the problem.I don't know if there is a connection to IBS (both smooth muscle?).John

I was told once by an MD that sometimes there is leakage from the gut into the bladder. I was foolish not to ask him how that happens? Maybe somebody els knows!

Yes!!! Totally!!I always have figured it is because you sit there for so long in almost a painful strain..the cramping the D..During this time you are stressing out your bladder too I am sure. But yes you are not alone..Just thinking about it..my bladder is twinging..I never really thought all that much about it...

Belfor You get bowel matter into the bladder when you have crohn`s desease. This happens when the desease progrsses an forms a stricture from the bowel to the bladder. Their`s a new drug that helps people with this but it`s very potent and dangerous. Liberty

yes I have what I'll call an irritablebladder also. My doc thinks it's just because the bladder is so close to the colon and when the colon is spasming, sothe bladdeer gets affected also. I findthey happen at the sime time, but not always. My symptoms are frequent urination in littleamounts, sensation of incomplete evacuationof bladder, a burning, "tight" sensation at times when I urinate, and a split, unevenstream of urine. It's gotten better sinceI've been taking Caltrate the past few months, which has calmed down my bowels considerably, though still going 2-4 timesa day, with some acidity and gas.
