This is my first time, not only on this site, but also to message boards in general. Is there somewhere I can look to find out if I'm doing things right? I want to abide by the rules, I just don't know them.I have what my doctors call "severe IBS." I have missed 18 days of work and lost 32 lbs. in 4 months. I've had IBS (supposedly) for about 2-3 years (since my gallbladder was taken out). I don't know what to do anymore. I've tried medications galore, diet changes, etc. and nothing seems to help. I've talked to many people who say they have IBS but none of them have the problems I do. Until this site! From what I've read, everyone is in the same boat as me. I'm getting ready to go to a specialist at Vanderbilt in Nashville. Do I expect the same diagnosis, which is, "It's IBS, you have to live with it." If so, help! I'm at my wit's end.
