Ok, the last two days I've felt pretty C. But when I finally do go it's D!! And it's kinda hard to get out! What is up with that? I don't know whether to keep taking the Caltrate or eat some salad that will make me go! I've never experienced this before. And it's diffenetly no fun! Anyone else had this?Jen

Hey Jen,I tried caltrate for a while and it gave me C which was more painful than the D. When I went, I felt like I was part rabbit. It was not exactly D but it was like marbles. I am sure the calcium in the caltrate binds you up and for some of us it goes to far the other way. How much caltrate do you take?? I have stopped taking it now. Do you eat lettuce in your salad?? Lettuce is acidic I think which may not help the problem.CB

Hi Jen,goodness me! Tell me about it!!! That is exactly what i have most often when ibs hits. It's horrible isn't it cos you don't know quite what to do! things that help d might make you more c which you are already and things that help c might make you more d - which you kinda are already!I too often feel like part rabbit woman! I get all c and then get urgent feelings that I need to go NOW! just like with d, but then I get there and it's a bit of d and then rabbit poop time! Awful! Really painful and difficult to get out and you NEVER feel like you are finished! And you never feel better after!I have found that hot water and lemon juice in the mornings help to get that first urge out of the way and then this lepicol stuff which is very very high in fibre has helped make my stools more substantial and less rabbit like, so I can go to the loo just once or twice a day and have a decent poop and feel better after!I still have bad days, especially if I have had a naughty night of not taking my leicol or going out and eating or drinking the wrong things, but it seems to be much improved, I have given up on the caltrate and magnesium combo unless it is a real emergency!Try a fibre suppliment if you can't get lepicol.good luck! I really feel for you!!!
